Tiny Buggy Things In My Sand

for the last few days I've noticed that there are these tiny (I mean really tiny) critters running around on my sand, and just under the surface. They look sort of like tiny shrimp, clear, but with lots of legs, but not like a centipede. Hard to describe, I don't have a digital camera, sorry.

Any help on what these are, friend or foe?

Prolly a type of copepod or other "pod" lifeform. Most likely good

Sounds like Amphipods
