Are the tiles you use for bathrooms and kitchens safe to go in a fish tank. one side is glazed but im not sure if the other side would be ok...

personally i wouldnt but you can buy aquarium safe slate at fish shops or granit i wouldnt add tiles because you dont know if they have been treated with anything or woill affect ypour water chemistry

You can use tiles, I know someone that has a tiled tank..Im not too sure what tiles you can use and you'll have to use some kind of none toxic, aquarium safe tile adhesive.

ah right, i can use tiles but probably not bathroom ones. im just thinking of dividers for a sump. i dont have much money and there was a box of unused ones in the shed. oh well

totally safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the none shiny side is a form of terracotta. only possible problem i can see, is if the shiny side gets damaged, there will be bits of very sharp ceramics floating around the bottom.

ahh thats good to hear, save me spending more money. It should be ok as they will be in the sump so if they do breal then they shouldnt end up in the tank :good:
