i recently bought 6 tiger barbs and 3 albino tiger barbs and put them in my 30 gallon (112 liter) and they all hid for the first couple days but after that the tiger barbs cam out of hiding but the albinos didn't. they are just sitting in the plants they never come out unless they see food. so i was just wondering if anybody new what is wrong with them. thanks!

Possibly they want a larger shoal too?

Have you room in your tank to up them to 6?

Yep, as per Shelster, they might either want to be in bigger numbers or are intimidated by what you have in your tank and/or the size of your tank is a problem.

How big is your tank? What else have you got in there? How long has it been set up?

don't they stay with the normal tiger barbs? the only other thing i have in there are a couple platys and it's a 30 gallon.

Well the tank should be big enough and you haven't got much else in there. I'd consider getting a couple more to increase their numbers. That might make them feel less intimidated.

The other option could be the water stats? Do know what they are? How long have you had the tank?

well the only bad thing about the water is the ammonia. it's 0.25. :(
