Hi I'm now keeping Mbuna they're all juveniles at the moment and actually getting on quite well. I have a 260Lt tank. What would people say is an acceptable number of fish of this species. As well as the yellow lab I've got demasoni. To kind of extremes regarding aggression. Although as said they seem to be getting along. I've got lotsa rock and hidey holes.
Cheers

Young cichlids are normally fine together. The problems start when they mature and start breeding. Then they argue.

How long, wide and high is the tank?

How often do you do water changes?

What sort of filter is on the tank?

What are the exact species of fishes in the tank?

Maylandia Red zebra. X4
Labidochromis caeruleus x4
Melanochromis auratus x4
Pseudotropheus socolofi Albino Snow whitex4
Pseudotropheus cobalt blue x4
Pseudotropheus demasoni x10
Roughly 3cm at the moment.
121x46x64 cm it's bow front so slightly wider in the middle.
I'm running 3 filters 1 internal 2 all pond solutions external 2efx & 1efx on paper there's over 3000lt ph water filtration.
I've only had the fish a few days I've done 1 water change 25%. I plan to do 2 per week 25/50%
I might try and move on the Demasoni.

I think that is more than enough in the tank.

Watch the M. auratus when they mature, they can get agro.

Thanks I've noticed the auratus getting fiesty! I might try and replace the Demasoni although I really like them, with some rusty Cichlid. This would bring the stock levels down.
