This Stuff Is Java Moss Right?

Big (but still shrunk down significantly) images so you can be sure of your Id.

And I tied it to some small bit of mopani.

And dropped it in the front of the aquarium where there is lots of light.

I got it in my £3.99 pack of 25 plants from last-trading-post and I think they put it in by accident since it says nothing about mosses in the description.
So is it java moss? Or is it chrismas moss or one of those harder to grow look-alikes?

How do you know? All the mosses look the same to me.
I'm looking at http/www.aquamoss.net/ and it could be one of many according to the pictures from what I can see

I don't think so. Christmas moss has christmas tree shaped branches. Mine have randomly sized sub-branches.

It stuck to the wood which suggests it has rhizoids...

How do you know it's not java moss?

Looks like java moss to me. it's loose longer branches . Check this site out it will help alot.

Its hard to tell as we have no idea if its grown emerged or submersed, plus all mosses look similar.

Yeah, it looks like it could be java moss, mini taiwan moss, erect moss...

I'm just going to keep it in my tank and see how it does. Thanks guys.

That IS elodea.

And it's not elodea, it's tiny for one, secondly it has way too many branches, finally it has rhizoids.

I'm just going to wait until it grows so I can ID it more reliably.
