as you all know i used to have sevs geos acaras etc but sold them on so i could do discus. well heres my problem. i put so much into eating sleeping and learning discus and how to stock discus tanks that now im coming back to the sevs etc im actually struggling to pit a list of potential stocking/tankmates together.

deffinate stock ( from existing) would be 12 corydora sterbai , 2 bolivian rams 1 bn plec.

so im thinking i could go with red spotted sev ( MUST HAVE NO MATTER WHAT) with maybe a sajica and some congo tetras or giant danios

or the sev and sajica with a couple of other new worlds

or the sev/sajica with an odball of some kind

aaaaaaarrrrggggggggggghhhhhhh help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Severums are good with any good sized cichild that is not overly aggressive. The T bar cichlid would be fine the larger teras would be ok too. A knife fish is odd and could work with your stock.

don;t let it do your head in ....its only age embrace it ha ha

How bout for the oddball a black ghost knife?

Sajicasare very impressive, I;ve always wanted a pair but never had theright tank free

i had toyed with a bgkf but im not happy that at 4x2x2 my tank is big enough long term . im thinking that the sev would be the centrepiece , the sajica just because i can , and as you say simon they are indeed gorgeous fish , and a fish ive always wanted .

maybe il leave it at that for cichlids and get a big group of congos for movement/colour . i think the problem is that after having the restrictions of discus im like a kid in a sweetshop lokking at what i can have .

trouble is im trying to get cichlids i havent had before and thats whats proving tricky .

i may well have a search around for some of the more unusual thorycthis species . im looking at a couple of oddballs too

Probably too far from you, but there are some gorgous thorichthys on ac

oooo those are niiiiiiice!!! just put it in me satnav and its only 57 miles . not too far to travel for the right fish. i was goiong to drive twice that for some discus so its just a short hop in comparrison. i think i may well bookmark that ad and email him nearer the time .

oooh thats not too bad then, I have done something right today

Its strange, all of my tanks with the exception of the frontosa and coldwater tank, have not actually been planned. The texas tank was planned but as blue acara & Rotkeils and the baby blue acara grew up to be texas  The tank the rotkeils are now in was sort of planned, but then Chops arrived.

lol yeah i usually tend to kind of make it up as i go along with my stocking . i usually go in for food or similar and come out with fish . you know how it is . even if toure not shopping for fish you are still drawn to the tanks like a magnet :hey:

It might well help that you have so many good sized tanks around your zoo, I mean home (

), so you can always juggle who is living which tank! ;)

For something a bit different in the tank what about a type of Pike cichlid just to add that slightly different body shape to the tank.

at the moment it looks like i may well go for a pair of golden panchax. discus will be on the market soon as the affected 1 seems to be responding well to treatment . :good:

just seen another ad on aquarist classifieds for thorichthys sp. mixteco blue in leicestershire . stunning!

Thats why I have so many tanks because one fish wont get on with some but ok with others, then another is ok with this one but not that one

Mark how about some Krobia xingu spot cheek, they are just gorgous.
