I could not believe it when I was asked to take these to guys, they are tiny at the moment, but they will definately be staying with me, I have wanted some of these for ages and kept putting it off.

Bless them they look so lost in a 400l tank. I will leave you to guess what they are, but I think its pretty obvious.

I will try and get some better pics in the next few days once they have settled.

Uarus?

One of my favourite fish, I love these guys and sold a lovely pair late last year

Nice, what are they? Uaru-thingys? (Im not good with cichlids  ) :X

Spot on Simonas, :good: They are tiny at only 1 1/2 & 2", they got some growing to do

They always look massive when infact they are tiddlers. They look so stocky and bulky even as juvis. They are very tempting when you see them in shops, however i have so many fish on my "to try" list that i doubt i'd ever get time to give these a go.

How'd you aquire these then Lesley?

They have been on my wish list for about 10 months now. They belonged to the person that gave me the blue acara's dad, he bought them a few weeks ago and was told they were something else, his tank is no were near big enough so rather than take them back to the shop he brought them up to me, I know Uaru are expensive, I have looked but he only accepted £5 for them as he rather them be with me than in a shop.

Uaru are great. The ones I use to have didn't like my hard, alkialine water though. great characters though.

Uaru babies I wish I had grown mine out and got to watch them change. But I got them as mature stunted adults. My big one is 6" the other is 5". They seemed not be growing much any more. They had a hard life till I got them.

They are cool fish really smart and bossy. They love to chew wood and eat plants. You will love them they have lots of personality that makes up for the blah color. When I took mine in as free rescues I thought I would just sell them. they grew on me and my family. Now I'm getting a bigger tank.

These 2 tiny guys are just so cute! no fear in them dispite the size of some of the other fish! They are not interested in food this morning, I have tried vegi flakes, tetra prima thinking they would prefer some smaller stuff but they are too busy ripping my java fern to shreds!!! so much for research saying they wont touch java fern
