I've got a 180l tank and am thinking of getting a couple of 3 spot Gourami's. Any advice before i take the plunge?????

I currently have:-

2 x Ancistrus
7 x Blue king tetra
6 x Cheery barbs

I am looking at adding 2 Gourami's, a Chocolate Zebra Plec and a shoal of about 12 Cardinal Tetra but I'm flexable on this as don't want to go overboard(my lfs say thats ok however I realise they will tell me anything to make a sale).

I'm upping the filtration in the tank to about 1300lph and not going to put anything in until I have done this.

Any advice,ideas or comments?

Hi Too Fast.

Will be fine in my opinion. Just be wary, the males can be agressive. Is your tank planted at all? A planted tank is recommended sometimes, or alternatively you could get a couple of females?

By 'Blue King Tetra' do you mean 'Emporer Tetra'. Sorry im just not too familiar with that common name. We must be from different areas :)

James.

The tank is planted but I'm looking at adding more soon as I want to provide more cover.

The blue king tetra is very similar too - if not the same as this

I found this under the name, Boehlkea fredcochui (Cochu's Blue Tetra )

Not familiar with them personally. Anyways, should be fine :good:

Thanks, will get the filtration and planting sorted and give it a go.
