how do i get my dwarf cichlids (striped dwarfs X2) to be less shy around me. right now they are in a 75L tank by themselves and they refuse to come out until feeding time. what are some ways that i can get them to come out of their caves?? id love to get some decent pictures of them!

Patience my friend :hey:
IIRC you only got these a couple of days ago? Shyness is perfectly normal when you've just added new fish. The fish need to get to grips with their surroundings first. Keep on feeding them, don't spook them and within a few weeks, they should no longer be timid. :good:

Apistogramma and most SA dwarf cichlids are very shy. I've had some A.Borellii for a month and they are still hiding at the back of the tank. Just got to be patient with them...

alrighty mate:) thanks so much for putting up with my newbie shenanigans! i never should have quit keeping fish!

I have some Krobia Xingu that too ages to stop being so shy.

My new Discus's are super shy too, and spook very easily! It took me over a month to get my first 2 Discus to open up a little bit, so patience is key! :)
