Like already mentioned chocolate gourami's are very hard fish to keep and are often thought of as a 'beginners' fish becuase of their small sizes.

I thought you said they were dwarf gourami you'd had for 8 months

Anyway, it's best to keep them in groups 6+ otherwise they may get aggresive
