Hi
Today i recieved an e-mail from the Green Machine
stating that "SAND IS NOT A SUITABLE SUBSTRATE FOR PLANTING"
What do you guy's think about this statement?

Highlight all the text in the email and press ctrl + c. Then come back to the forum add reply and press ctrl + v

LP

go on youtube and search for "how to copy and paste" there's bound to be a tutorial video on there!

The reason they say that is because plants uproot more easily from sand due to the smaller particles, I have a set up doing great with sand and my carpet plants don't uproot apart from the odd Heferi.

This is exactly what they said in e-mail,

HI THERE
WE ASSUME THAT THERE WILL BE NO FISH IN THE TANK INITIALLY,
IS THIS CORRECT?
ALSO,SAND IN ITSELF IS NOT A PERFECT SUBSTRATE,IT WILL COMPACT MAKING IT DIFFICULT FOR PLANTS TO ROOT,
THERE ARE MUCH MORE SUITABLE SUBSTRATES AVAILABLE THAT WILL ALSO CYCLE THE TANK WITHOUT THE ADDITION OF ANY AMMONIA,
IF YOU CAN BE A LITTLE MORE SPECIFIC ON YOUR REQUIREMENTS THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL,
BEST REGARDS
TGM.

What you reckon???
