(it's hydrochloric acid....) failing that, get a bowl of water, test the pH, leave the rocks in it overnight, test the pH again, see if it's changed. oh, and clean all rocks you find very thoroughly, and make sure they dont look to have metal in them.

Now I just have to figure out where test solution 1 for nitrate walked off to, since I don't have any vinegar. I know boiling is a good option for cleaing, how long should they boil for? Thanks,
