Temp In Planted Tanks

Hello all!!

Can anybody tell me what is the avarage Temp for planted tropical tank?

My temps I run at 26 C permanently, is this to high, will it cause plants to die?

All advice will be cool!!!

As long as its ok for the fish then it should be fine for the plants. 26 would seem fine to me.

Looking thorugh the ADA catalogue and most run between 24-26 oC

Actually this is not quite true. Fish like discus or zebra plecos need pretty warm water and plants will not be real happy at the temps these fish require. I am sure there are a few other fish that need it warm as well.

No offence, but how do you explain this then?

I also read a post my Tom Barr on here not so long ago and he says there is no real problem, it takes a very high temp for plants to be affected, well above fish tolerance levels.
