Very nice! i like them because theyre compact, lots going on everwhere in the tank!

I have one of those plecs without the long fins. How big do they get?

tetraman - if you're talking about the plec in the Malawi tank, all I know is that they're some sort of African plec (typically can't remember the name), and don't grow very big (the 2 I've got haven't really grown much in 5 months, about 3.5" long each).

looks like a bristle nose plec but its hard to say with it being so small.

I do also have 3 Albino Bristlenose plec's in the Malawi tank (1 male/2 females), but they're full grown, about 5" each - can't see them in any of my pics though, only the African plecs which are brown.

Ah-ha - if you mean the 3rd pic down of my Malawi tank, that's one of the brown African plecs. Just managed to get a quick picture of them (bit hazy) - one of them always sits on top of the digital thermometer and blocks the temp reading, lol

Thanks - just had a quick look-up of them - says they can grow to 12" - that right??? Blimey, hope they're real slow growers, I'm quite attached to them

no one can give me an exact answer, i've been told between 8" & 12". ive had mine anbout 6 months and he hasn't grown that much so hopefully that will be some comfort too you!
