continue to have a high ammonia level in spite of a 50% water change a week ago and a 10% water change last night. Am also adding ammo-loc . Do I need to add this several times a week?

Hello mcalister I think the people that can help you need to know a few more bits of information to help you better.

Size of Tank how old is it if new have you done a fishless cycle ? and how long have you been doing it for ?

if old what is the stocking in it ? and have you made any major changes that may of caused your Ammonia spike ?

Water stats ? Temperature , PH , Ammonia , Nitrite and Nitrate ? A chemical test kit is better than strips , strips they can be quite inaccurate in some peoples opinion.

Do not hold me to it but I think I remember reading some were in this forum that Ammo lock can give you false Ammonia reading.

Hope some one better qualified gets back to you soon but for now try and leave some if not all the information I suggest it will save a lot of time.
