How many galons is a tank with dimensions of 4 foot long, 1 foot deep, and 20 inches high? is there a formula to figure it out? im not great with math but i think if i had a formula i could figure it out. thanks alot.

i'm sure, there will be somone here to give you a exata

answer. But, I would say its about 55 US gallons.

Because a 4ft by 24'' by 20 '' is a 75 gallon.

i guessed 50 gallons. but i would love to know how to figure the exact gallons. i want to make a custom tank and i would like to know how to figure it out.

V = L” x W” x H” x Z or
V = L cm x W cm x H cm x Z
Z is a conversion factor that converts the answer from cubic centimetres
(cm ³) or cubic inches (in³) to volume.
See below for the value.

1 in³ = 0.016387064 litres
1 in³ = 0.00360464866 Imperial gallons
1 in³ = 0.00432900431 US gallons

1 cm ³ = 0.001 litres
1 cm ³ = 0.000219969157 Imperial gallons
1 cm ³ = 0.000264172051 US gallons

using that i got 49.8 but thats trally close to 50 gallons. cool thanks alot. i apreciate the arithmatic lesson.
