Hi

I am currently thinking of ideas for stocking in my new 120l tank and was wondering if you think neon dwarf gourami will be ok with my current fish.

I have 6 neon tetra (will be adding 6 more), 4 guppies, 1 molly and a queen of arabesque plec.

My lfs has advised that they will be fine together and i do trust them but just wondered if anyone has had an experience with a similar mix?

Thanks

Jenni

that should be alright. theres always a chance the dwarf gourami will show some aggression, but it should be pretty minimal, i dont think he'll seriously hurt anybody.

Thank you :)

I was actually thinking about pearl gourami too as they are meant to be more peaceful. Would this also be a good option?

We're pretty much in the same position as I too am theoretically thinking about stocking gouramies. Though I (personally) would advise against the dwarf gourami as they seem to be the more aggressive of the group. I'd try honeys or pearl if you want to keep a 2/1 ratio of female to male.

I have a couple of Sunset Dwarf Gouramis in a 29gal with Mollies, Cherry Barbs, and Zebra Danios and they all seem harmonius. No fighting yet although one of the dwarfs is being quite recluse. The other mingles with the community.

Just watch the size of your gourami. The larger the gourami, the small fish become dinner. My pearl and gold went after the neons and started eatting them. The baby sparkling gourami left them alone. Once the neons grew larger in a seprate tank, all the gourami left them alone.

I have a pearl gourami in with guppies and no aggression whatsoever. I used to have a dwarf gourami too and it showed no interest in any other fish except the female. You will be fine with either of them.

the dwarf gourami I had did not like the guppies in my tank at all. Constantly chased them when given the oppurtunity.

i have 7 gouramis, 2 pearl, 2 gold, 2 blue and 1 yellow, and they live with 2 silver sharks, 2 clown loaches, 8 zebra danios, 5 leopard danios and 1 common plec and i see no agresion whatsoever
