Takuta Spits His Food Out. =(

I've had him about 3 days...

Betta Bites pellet things.

I just tried these really soft little brine shrimp wafers and what does he do?!! HE SPAT IT OUT.

one of my bettas doesnt eat much at all..I never realised until I decided not to put any gravel in his bowl and you can see all the flakes on the floor. He likes peas and bloodworms though. he doesnt look as if he is starving..he is very handsome...try him with a flake crumbled up....good luck!

Tell me about these peas.

And where can I get bloodworms?

Should they be live/frozen or is there some sort of flakey thing I can give him that will taste the same?

Hi aquagirl just ordinary human frozen peas but defrost one and then squish it in your fingers and give them the middle bit they love them. I use the frozen bloodworms..but I am a bit squeamish so I hold the frozen block in my fingers and wave it about in tank until some of the worms come off..betta tanks first, then goldfish and ending up with my 3 large tropicals that eat anything!

I just posted a thread about this as my rescue guy is doing the same thing. Is yours active otherwise? Mine is luckily and hope yours is too. I'm going to keep watch on this thread too. Good luck!

Thanks for your concern!

Yes he's very active.

And oddly, he loves current!
He likes to play in the bubbles from the filter.

Uhm yeah he just spits out his food.

My bettas can never resist bloodworms and live mosquito larvae. You can try the frozen bloodworms or frozen beef heart too. Raise the temperature a bit so Takuta's body will be more active and he'll become hungry.

I use a blunt stick to scrape bloodworms and give 4-5 worms per meal or when their tummy swells.

Good luck!
