I have a jewul t8 light unit that has 24" 18w tubes and was wondering if i could use any tubes that size instead of buying the stupidly expensive jewul certified ones?

Im asking because Arcadia do the tropical bulbs that are 7500k certified and marine white. Would these work??

Thanks in advance :good:

Yes ofcourse.
24" 18W t8 is a standard size used for many things. I have the same light unit and bought my tubes from Lampspecs.
Do you prefer the asthetics of 7500k? Because it will make no difference to the plants.

I like the clean look to be honest and 7500k is going to be way more than the standard kit ive got. What would you recommend for plant growth then?

A combination of 7500k and marine maybe?
:good:

It's entirely up to you because kelvin has no relevance on plant growth.

Question already answered nicely by RadaR, but just to confirm, I use Arcadia bulbs :good:

That 7500K is the freshwater? or some funny new name if you buy in P@H. That is a greenish light and probs the nicest colour light I used to use. I'm actually currently using one to backlight my current tank.

Ye something called the daylight 7500k bulb. Im thinking that now im going to go down the uv bulb and marine white as replacemets.

Should give a nice glow with silica sand instaed of the gravel ive currently got.

Thnaks for all info :good:

I'm sure you don't really mean UV bulb. i.e. the UV that kills life forms ;) Least I hope not :)

Andy

I have a white tube and a purple uv that kills bacteria as standard on the jewul tank. Thats what it came with

Now wanting Marine white with the blue glow moonlight i think.

If it is UV then its probably only UV A. Maybe UV B. UV C is what they use in uv filters
