Up until recently, I've only ever seen black or red swordfish in town, and the two I have are yellow with a lot of black from mid back. Is there a name for the kind they are?

I don't think they have a spcecific name
apart from pinapple swords I havn't seen names for other colours
but I could be wrong.

they're not pineapple cuz pineapples look gold compared to these guys you can almost see through them all the way where they are yellow

There are many different colour morphs of Swordtails (Xiphophorus helleri) some are true breeds some are the results of crossings gone wrong ala platties and guppies.
Its almost impossible to tell what you have only to say they sound like Marigold Wag similar to Marigold wagtail platties in colouration.

The verdict is in people; I know what they are. They are not pure swordtails, but have been bred with a type of platy in the past- specifically, the yellow tuxedo platy. (Go look up a pic if you want, they're really tight.) Anyway, they look exactly like that, only they're swordtails. Will this make my female unable to conceive, because I've had her for about a month and she's still tiny.
