Hi

My current setup has an EHEIM BioPower 160 internal filter. I'm switching to an external filter this week as I much prefer them for multiple reasons. I'm pretty happy with how I will do this swap however I do have one question regarding water temperature control.

At present the tank has an EHEIM ThermoControl (I think also referred to as a Jager?) submerged and keeping the water temps good. The new external filter I'm getting this week is the EHEIM Professional 4+ 250T with Thermo.

This is the first time I've had an external filter with thermo so I have a few questions and apologies if they are basic in nature!

The first one is:

Am I correct in assuming, that this will heat/regulate the aquarium water temperature so the submerged Jager is redundant?

Secondly, once the external thermo filter is setup and running, can the Jager be removed right away? Or does the external one need time to come to temp(?) or...?

Thanks for the help in advance ☺
