And 15A is standard as most all circuits in your home are protected by a 15A breaker. 20A circuits are found in only in areas of major appliances (i.e. kitchens).

There are no 240V filters in the US to the best of my knowledge and no plug-in surge protectors for 240V either. Not sure about other countries though.

Agreed...the plug on the AC filters would not fit correctly into a 208/230-240V receptacle.

I wish we could run everything off 240V here. My electric bill would be a lot smaller!
