If you want to use an overflow siphon. and your tank is close to a window. you can put your overflow box outside with a plastic container with a top and just cut out a hole for the u pipe. open your window a little bit cut out a hole in your screen for the u pipe( make sure it is tite) run it threw to your aquarium and your are done. However if you down want a chane of a robber getting threw the window buy a stick at your local home depot and caut it to fit. If you have a old lady and she wants the window shut then you might have to have a window drilled buy a pro so that if it cracks they are responsibile. I did this and have the power go out and it overflowed howver since the overflow was out side it simpliy went in the yard and down the storm drains. no mess for you just add more water.

You're thinking of the wrong type of overflow. The overflows used in this instance are to drain water from the display tank down to a sump, not to prevent flooding, etc.
