I was wondering what sort of diet is ideal for a German Blue Ram Dwarf Cichlid. I haven't consulted anybody with regards to an optimum diet for this sort of fish but I do know that they are omnivores and I do know they are a very sensitive fish so I tend to pick out the foods which have high vitamin and protein content.
I currently feed the following to my GBR:
- Ocean Nutrition Spirulina Flakes added twice a day, an amount that can be eaten in a few minutes. Product found here.
- Ocean Nutrition Omni-flakes added once or twice a day, an amount that can be eaten in a few minutes. Product found here.
- Gamma eradicated Blood worms dipped in Waterlife Vitazin (vitamin supplement) offered every 4-7 days. The GBR will generally eat 3-4 of them.
Some people who I have spoke with say that they have never fed flakes to GBR's. Is there some legitimate reason for avoiding giving flakes to GBR's or is it just a personal choice to avoid?
I've been interested in purchasing a different Ocean Nutrition product (found here), would it be suitable for offering to a GBR? I'd appreciate any food recommendations as I'm looking to be able to offer several different foods to my fish rather than just offering two different types.
Unfortunately, my GBR has a thing for flakes, it turns its nose up at pellets!
Mark.
