just wondering if anyone would care to suggest an interesting species for a 70l (15.4 UK G / 18.5 US G) species tank? something that gets along well with its own species, maybe something i couldnt keep in a community tank.

maybe 4 dwarf puffers, as long as you have plenty of hiding spots they should be ok, im going to have them soon in my 20gal :D

How about a betta species tank I'd say you could get about 18 of those things in that huge tank

Errr, Have you thought about a planted tank with say some Cories or some of the smaller Rainbow Fish

I was very tempted by the forktail blue-eyes (pseudomugil furcata), said to be sensitive, but SO handsome. You could fit in a shoal of those, just about. Plenty of water changes, I believe, but would be worth it.

Or (if your water is hard) a shelldweller tank- that's another one of my future projects. Neolamprologus multifasciatus or something similar.

Or, if you want an unusual fish, how about an orange bushfish (microctenopoma ansorgii), or a pair? Have to admit that I don't know how sensitive they are, but I saw them in the stocking list at Trimar, and thought if only I had a tank to spare....

all sound interesting so far, thanks :) ive done some reading on some of the fish and still havent quite decided.

ive always liked the idea of a planted tank, though it seems very fiddly and i have zero experience (apart from buying a live plant once, stuffing it in gravel and seeing it turn a lovely brown color and fall to bits).
