Hi all

I am about to put in new substrate into my Juwel Rio 180 and I was just wondering how much do I need to use.....considering the bags are 9kg Eco complete

Ps also gonna put a layer of colured gravel on the eco complete

Sorry i dont know how much to use - i just use boring normal sand at about 1.5 inches deep. Warning on the gravel - lots of fish such as cory catfish rummage around in the substrate and sift sand through gills. Gravel can damage their whiskers and cause infections

I used JBL Sansibar substrate. They suggest tank length in cm times tank width in cm gives you X
Divide X by 140. The answer will give you KGs needed to give a 2" depth of substrate.
