wich substrate would be the best ?

can i use sand from the ocean floor as a substrate or can i use the finest crushed coral at my nearest lfs ?

ocean a few hours away but if that will prove to be the best ill get it?

should one alway place the live rock first then substrate ?

Always put rock first. Sand will shift, rubble will shift.

ALL my glass tanks get a layer of black acrylic. (I used to use white HDPE (which is often called by a trademark name,Starboard) but I like black WAY better... and since I build tanks... hehe I always have it on hand).

No substraite = easiest to clean, no bennifit for water proccesing, but no bad stuff either
thin layer of fine sand = next, no bennifit for water proccesing, some negitives for proccessing
Large rubble = so so, helps proccess water, helps trap detrious
Deep sand bed = not good looking IMO but can have interesting results, and some cool fish need it. big help and big problems with proccessing
medium course stuff... ya not a fan
