Well.. the substrate in my tropical is raising the PH too too much.. it keeps it at 7.0 - 6.8 even though I have a co2 diffuser that kicks in 2 bps. :/ what should I replace it with when the time comes? :/ I would probably move the gravel into my goldfish tank since they like a higher PH. but what would I replace it with? flurorite seems liek it would be too rough for cories right? :-(

what is the ph of your tap water?

replace it with silica sand or play sand as both of these are non toxic and so non reactive and will look nice in the bottom of your tank with no issues

:/ it is not that high.. and even if it was.. the co2 injector should bring it down and it should stay there.. in any case.. the goldfish substrate can be removed and this PH raising sub can go into goldfish tank.

any special things I should be aware of when it coems ot sand? And how well will plants grow in it? :/
