Strange Algae Type Thing..

Does anyone know what this is? It has been growing from the end of my vallis, it seems to be spreading to my hygrophillia.. should I get rid of it? I kinda like it.. its weird.

Staghorn algae, horrible stuff very hard to get rid. Break off any effected leaves and be vigilant.

really!? will it take over then? ...oh man this is my most successful algae free tank

It gets out of control very fast and seems to be parasitic, leaves loose colour and go mushy. It generally gets into the tank on new plants. I've been fighting this algae for two weeks now, with vigilant ripping it out and double dosing Flourish excel. There's been a marked decline in growth but not totally eradicated yet.
