How do you store your un-used plants? I rehashed my tank at the weekend, and feel that I'll be restarting it in a couple of weeks. To this end, my un-used amazon swords are in a bucket of tank water, out the back of the house. I'm toying with adding fert once a week, and changing the water in the bucket with tank change water.
I'd like them to stay usable, but would like to here your comments, based on your experiences.

They should be okay for a couple of weeks, they might loose a leaf or two. The only problem would be if they get too cold at night if its likely to go below 15C I would bring them in. I kept some baby offsets in a container outside for a month, I planted them in some garden soil in semi shade they grew better than in the tank but that was in high summer

Its hard.

They will die quickly in the back garden because it will be too cold.

If you dont replace the water at least every other day they will become covered in algae.

The problem is, they are not getting sufficient light.
