Stocking

I have a 13 US gallon tank and currently have 5 black neons in it. I was wondering what else I could get in the tank without making it to crowded. I wanted a beta but I am not sure they will be ok with the neons. If so what else could I put in with a beta and the 5 neons?

Get some oto catfish (about 3)they stay small and clean the algae much more effectively than plecos. Very fun to watch as well.

Consider some platies or cardinal tetras, more colorful fish than black neons. I'm gona give away my black neons tomorrow in fact because I want a more colorful tank.

I also wanted a more colourful tank and was thinking maybe to get rid of the black neons and get some rainbow fish. I really do want a beta so need something that will go with the betas.

The betta won't mix with much.

Yeah in a 13 gal a betta wont mix with much I think the black neons would work well but if you want colour and impressive action in a tank go with micro fish Like chilli rasbora and sparkling gourami in with your neons. Maybe tiny catfish as well like anchor catfish or pygmy catfish

If you want a feature fish to with the neons maybe some kind of dwarf cichlid? Like a nannacara anomala or cockatoo cichlid or any related apistogramma.
