Stocking

hi everyone ive got 9 tropical tanks but have never understood the stocking rules for tanks and think several of my tanks are overstocked especially as ime always having ammonia and nitrite problems,my tanks are 12x15x24 and have fluval plus 2 filters in,my main community tank has 7 harlequins two angelfish two black widows one guppy one rainbow and four peppered corys,this is overstocked is,nt it?ime also worried bout my catfish tank which is the same tank except being 18 in height and has a fluval 4 in it,got five featherfins and two cuckoos in there
 
Need to get a mod to move this for you to begiinner section, there names are in blue at the bottom of the forum, good luck and welcome to the board.

Sorry there are no mods on at the moment but they shouldn't be long.

Just go to the beginner section and do the thread again.

I think the rule of thumb is 1 inch to every 1gal. freshwater and 1inch for every 5gal. saltwater
