I wanted to make a final stocking thread a month or so before I actually start getting fish so I can plan better...

So this is my planned stocking:

3- peacock gudgeons

9- Lambchop Rasboras

10- Blue velvet shrimp

I hope the peacocks can get along with the velvet shrimp because I have heard they are very peaceful BUT I wanted to know what you guys thought

Peacock gudgeons are small and peaceful. If the shrimp aren't too big they should be ok together. If the shrimp are big, they might eat the gudgeons.

The shrimp are only 1/2 an inch and the gudgeons are 2.5-3 inches... I'm more worried about the gudgeons making them a meal

I take what I said back... Blue velvets actually grow to be 1.5-2.5 inches BUT I've heard they are very peaceful and actually are best kept with small fish

Congo Tetras are also ‘peaceful’ lol.
Have you ever seen a picture of a blue velvet shrimp? They barely have any claws! They feed on algae and left over food

Im almost thinking to get some snails that will breed a lot and then later on getting 2-3 assassin snails to keep them in check... Is this ok, or is my tank too small?

So, you are going to put some snails in your tank, and then get some other snails to eat those snails. Do you see what is wrong with this picture?

Yes, but I'm hoping that I'll get all male assassin snails. But actually after doing research I'm not cause they need a larger tank size

Never purposefully introduce pest snails into any of your tanks.

Assassins would be fine in a 20H, but you don't need them.

Ok. I will probably get nerites and blue velvet shrimps. If I see any aggression between the shrimps and the fish I'll remove the shrimps

Should be fine...BVS are just another variant of the Neocaridinas...make sure to have plenty of hiding spots for the juvie shrimp...if the fish were to go after them, it's the young they'd want (small size)

I've never seen any of the neos get bigger than an inch or so...kept them for years
