Stocking Idea For A 125 Litre Tank

lots of choices then! i recently set up a 100 litre so slightly smaller than yours and the choice is pretty big. what kind of fish do you like?
i still havent got a finished stocking list for mine as i cant make my mind up!

you've almost answered your own question!

dwarf/pearl gourami would be great. colourful and interactive fish - im sure carlovel1 will give you some better advice - he knows much more than me!
i have a bristlenose plec in my 90 litre. he does a great job of controlling algae, and you could probably fit at least another one in yours as its bigger. a male and female maybe, then you could get them breeding?

i saw in one of your other posts you are in london - i moved here in september, and there are some great shops around. if you get on the train up to crews hill there are about 5 shops all within 5 mins walk, including an MA. also wholesale tropicals in bethnal green has a decent selection of livestock, and a great selection of gourami! and kings aquatics on camden high street sell very cheap and healthy plants, but dont have a massive selection of fish unfortunately.

yeah either the dwarf or pearl.

not sure about the others, but betta with gourami and guppies wouldnt be a good idea at all.

Bettas with guppys and gouramis i thought would not be a good idea at all, however the other day at a lfs where they keep the male bettas seperate in different tanks with other fish i saw them being kept with both guppys and gourami! i have never kept a betta though so i wouldnt like to say yes or no

Pearl Gouramis are a little big for a 125L tank, I had 3 and they grew pretty big, they looked very cramped in there. Siamese Algae Eaters are also too big and active for your tank. Its not usually a good idea to mix Gouramis with Bettas. Is your tank cycled, if not, there is no point adding Neon Tetras, as they will just die off what about this:
8 Glowlight Danios or Pearl Danio(undoubtedly the best looking Danio species)
8 Rummynose Tetras
3 Honey Gouramis 1 male 2 females (dont get to male as they'll fight, also the Honey Gourami is much more peaceful than Dwarf Gouramis)
6 Panda Corys (good at eating left over food, but you must additionally feed them pellets)
6 Amano Shrimp (excellent Algae Eaters)

are you sure that pearls are to big
theyre my favaurite :crying:

Well they get really big but Im sure you could cramp ONE in there (preferably female, they are less aggressive)
