I was set on stocking my tank with large shoals of tiny fish . However as I await the arrival of my tank I am having second thoughts (yes lots of you said I would)
Kept a variety of cichlids quite a few years ago and loved their personalities.
Have been looking at the electric blue acara . Like what I see and what I have read about them.
Here's the relevant info.
Tap water - ph 8 dh 4
Tank -
L-150cm
D-38cm
H-50cm
Filter rated to 1400l
Have sand to use as substrate and a variety of wood (currently soaking)
Planning to add floating plants and some like anubias to attach to the wood.
Questions.
1. Is this suitable for EBA ?
2. If I only keep EBA how many would you recomend for my planned set up ?
3. If not suitable what would you recomend ?

Always appreciate the advice and ideas :fish:

Hi! My vote would totally be GET AN EBA. I believe the dimensions of your tank makes it close to a standard 55? Your tank size would be great! I am not sure how many you could have, what other tank mates are you hoping to get?

I have an EBA in my 55 gallon tank with 12 bloodfin tetras, a pleco, and a bunch of pygmy and dwarf Cories. He gets along great with all of them! I would definitely go with something larger if you went with Cories, he makes me nervous with my Pygmies! I can put up a photo of my EBA if you would like to see him. Sometimes it is hard to get an idea what a fish will ACTUALLY look like, compared to those photoshopped online images and such you know?
