Maybe you need a real camera. A good one with adjustments to compensate for lighting and stuff. Also, since the fish swim and dart around like hyenas maybe just take scads of shots. Here's my latest poor attempt.

I have the same problem, Tried two different cameras and my wife's cell phone but the pictures never do the subject justice. I must have taken over 100 pictures trying to get a decent one of my sunken forest tank as for fish -forget it. I am lucky to get one or two good ones out of 100. The only fish so far that turned out looking alright was my red tailed fancy guppy. I swear he likes to have his picture taken :fish:

My iPad (the one I use on TFF all the time) takes fairly good photos:

Here is what my old profile picture used to be:

Not bragging or anything, but here are some more good pictures I’ve got:

My good camera takes better close ups. My GoPro takes good slow motion and action shots, not so much close ups. :)

My camera skills are trash but here they are.
Did you get those pictures at an actual reef?

I would love to go to a reef and scuba dive. That way I could take pictures with my GoPro Hero 6. Unfortunately, I live in Kentucky, which is landlocked. :(

Yes, its an actual reef, and its about 2 km away from my house.

A couple tips I got from AKA people were : take lots of pictures , dozens and dozens. Another tip was to give them a heavy feeding and take pictures a couple hors later when they are sitting around still letting their meal settle.
