Hi,

I'm new to the group. :fun:

I have been considering setting up a micro aquarium. Probably something along the lines of 2.5 to 4 gal. Before I do this, I figured it'd be best to ask for advice. :)

I would like to know how to properly cycle a tank that small and what sort of filter, lighting and substrate would it need. And are there live plants small enough to handle it? Or would imatation plants suffice?

I want to have very small fish and a few tiny shrimp in it. I would prefer to cycle the tank with fish. Can anyone recommend a small fish to cycle it with? B-) Oh! Btw, are there snails small enough for such a tank without overcrowding?

I would really love to do this correctly and reduce fish death as much as possible. ;) I have some experience with 5 and 10 gal tanks, but tanks this small are new to me. If there is anything I've failed to ask, let me know!! Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated!! :good:

Thank you!! :D
