So I have started my 55 gallon planted tank and have about 9 plants so far I've noticed some of them are turning brown and some of them have a few clear leaves. What do I do ? Why are they clear and brown? I also started using seachem flourish but its only been 2 days so I have yet to see any real major difference

Clear leaves is a lack of Carbon, meaning you'll have to add it or lower your lighting enough so that the plants don't need as much. The algae is most likely caused by the same effect - sick plants.
Whether a trace mic like flourish can support further growth would remain to be seen. But you might want to consider a more complete food with plenty of Nitrate and Phosphate.

IMO

Is there a certain food you would recommend

In the US - Tropica Specialised as an all in one, or the others in the seachem range as a group or buying the dry chemicals.
Tropica is the easiest tho
