Hi and welcome to the forum.

What a lovely thing you did saving this fish, well done. We may need more information to figure out what the problem is here.

How long has the tank been set up and what are your parameters like? If the tank is cycled and there is no evidence of any white spots or fungus, it might be some sort of protozoan that’s causing the flashing. In which case dosing with aquarium rock salt would be recommended.

This won’t effect the natural bacteria built up.

Best of luck.

You can try salt or a broad spectrum fish medication that treats fungus, bacteria and protozoan infections.

Bottom picture of the fish, there appears to be a couple of small black dots on the caudal peduncle region of the fish (just before the tail). Is that on the fish or dirt on the glass?

----------------------------
You can add rock salt (often sold as aquarium salt), sea salt or swimming pool salt to the aquarium at the dose rate of 2 heaped tablespoon per 20 litres of water. If there is no improvement after 48 hours you can double that dose rate so there is 4 heaped tablespoons of salt per 20 litres.

Keep the salt level like this for at least 2 weeks but no longer than 4 weeks otherwise kidney damage can occur.

The salt will not affect the beneficial filter bacteria but might affect some plants.

After you use salt and the fish have recovered, you do a 10% water change each day for a week. Then do a 20% water change each day for a week. Then you can do bigger water changes after that.

If there's no improvement after a week with salt, then use a broad spectrum fish medication.

thats dirt on the glass. What kind of med you reccomend?, And what is rock salt? is it NaCl or Epsom salt or neither?

rock salt is just plain old boring sodium chloride in crystalline form.

table salt is sodium chloride with something added to make it fine so it goes through the salt shaker. You cannot use table salt.

I don't know what medications are available in different countries but if you look for a broad spectrum medication that treats fungus, bacteria and protozoans, that will do.

Most medications have the same ingredients but different brand names. Common ingredients include Malachite Green, Methylene Blue, Formaldehyde.
