Well lesson learned for me  . One of my heaters packed up sunday, so I unplugged it and removed it no problem. As I have my two heaters mounted horizontally one above the other behind the LR out of sight and it was the bottom of the two that packed up, I thought to myself I'll put the old one in the bottom bracket as I'll have to keep adjusting the new one to get it set to the correct temp, Having wet hands already I figured I'd be carefull and move it while it was still on.................
Well it touched the LR, cracked in two and I was 'wired in' to the circuit so to speak, this caused me(according to my wife) to let out a 'big girly squeel'(I remember it more as a deep and manly shout 'arrrgggghhh') and then to throw my arm at high speed from the tank sending a 'wave' of salty water across my lounge hitting my mobile phone,my mp3 player and my 'number one' laptop  .
Lucky for me I wasn't earthed and apart from a funny feeling in my hand for the rest of the day I was fine. It wasn't all bad though my wife decided we should have a large chinese take away to help me feel better(quick fried squid  ).
Anyway the moral of the story is don't risk it, unplug those heaters before you go moving around in your tank as hot glass and rock isn't a good combination!!
Cheers johnny

p.s no fish where harmed and all electronic equipment survived the incident.

No matter what you do, ALWAYS turn off the electric to the tank before putting your hand in
