I was shopping left my new betta in his holding tank a breeder box that pumps water from the tank in and the extra water flows out. There is a little gate of he can not slide into the main tank. Well some now he did. Smart little fish.

I did not know this till I saw the white cloud minnows schooling a bit tighter then normal. I look at the tank and there is Mr. Purple swimming around like he owns the place. I was scared there is a male sparkeling gourami in the tank. So far they have been just checking each other out. But I know they can't stay together. It is a well planted 20gal long so they have room till I figure out what to do. The sparkeling gourami likes to stay near the bottom and Mr. Purple is staying at the top.

What a little naughty betta I got to keep an eye on this guy.

Here is the breeder box. He got out of.

I'm not entirely sure how those boxes work, but bettas are known to jump.  I feel like bettas are extremely clever, yet sometimes they are rather dumb.  Kind of like a dog. :)

There is a lid on it. so he could not jump. I think he pushed his way threw the little gate where the water goes back into the tank.

Ha ha, sneaky is certainly the word!

Hope all is well with Mr.Purple and your sparkler.
I was going to say what a clever idea for a breeding box, however not clever enough for Mr.Purple :D
