Hi all, can anyone help me, i have some small white snails in my tank haven't a clue where they came from as i haven't put anything in the tank except some tubifex?. Is there anything on the market to get rid of them?.
Any reply would be appreciated.

Thanks

Snail killing solutions are available, but not recommended as they can adversly affect your water quality.

The best method of snail control is a combination of manual removal (put a piece of tomato, cucumber or lettuce in the tank overnight to attract the snails) and making sure you're not overfeeding; no excess food = less snails.

Tomato? I hadn't heard that one before. I would think the acid in the tomato would be an issue.

I agree with the rest. Manual removal and not overfeeding is the best solution.

Well, my BNs and snails love tomato; I've not had a problem with using it.

Or you could add an asassin snail, that'd get rid of them. However it would also get rid of any wanted snails in the tank too...
