On removing my tank lid for cleaning, I discovered what looks like eggs. They were small ball like shells, tightly grouped together. The colour was a slightly yellow-ish. I can only belive them to be the snails bacuase nothing else could lay eggs up their. I removed them and destroyed them.

I didnt think the snail breed this quickly as Ive only had them about a month. Iam going to m y lfs to get a couple of clown loaches to eat any more.

Do you think these were snails?

How small?? Like the size of a pinhead? Then yes they were snail eggs. Before you get clown loaches, which grow big, make sure your tank can handle them. There are other loaches you can get that will take care of snails.

Good Luck,
Tiff

Sounds like apple snail eggs. They lay their eggs above the water line, they're often a huge cluster of orangish hard ball shaped eggs.
