Anyone else have this problem or are some of mine drunk?

Quite often I find at least on of my turbo snails on it's side unable to prop itself back up because it has fallen off the rock! I've had to get a large plastic ruler in the tank a few times to prop them up. Is this normal for it to happening, or should I think about rearranging my rock work?

Thanks!

Only remember having to turn a snail over once in 3 years. Perhaps lower water-alcohol concentration a smidgen.

mine tend to do it if they go up the glass. idiots

Yeah mine seems to decide to start going on the glass then next time I look over it hasn't quite made it

Are these true Turbo genus snails or "turbos" that are actually related to Astrea or Trochus? If it's Turbo genus and they're falling off & unable to right themselves frequently, something is probably off. I've only ever seen that behavior from Turbos that are severly harassed or have an injury (e.g. damage to the columellar muscle or foot that prevents them from hanging onto glass as usual). Trochus and Astrea can be at more of a disadvantage due to the shell shape and proportinally smaller foot. If they're getting stuck in the rocks rather than the substrate, you may need to rearrange a bit so they can't get wedged as easily.

Agree with Donya, most "turbo" snails are actually Astreas, and some are actually Trochus :)
