Snail Trying To Escape?

Today my pond snail just wants to escape and keeps coming up out of the water (the water is not to the top as i have surface breathers) Why is it doing this and what can i do?? i checked the water and it's ok - Ammonia and nitrite 0, i did a big pwc this morning. What else could be wrong? i have a baby pond snail who is not having this problem and the rest of the tank mates seem just fine. Any ideas?

might be coming out the water to lay eggs ??

If it is humid enough snails can survive out of the water too. Maybe it just felt like a walk

i don't know. Thanks for the suggestions. i'm pretty sure normal bog standard pond snails lay their eggs under water on plants leaves and things, i'm hoping so anyway as i've had a lot of eggs recently and was presuming they were just snails.

It has stopped for the time being but i've been observing and it seems it is being harassed all of a sudden by betta - silly thing. Can't move betta for quite a while so they;re just going to have to get on a little while longer. Snail has actually been there months longer than everybody else so it's pretty uncalled for.

Common pond snails do lay their eggs under water. On the other hand "mystery snails" lay eggs above the water line. Snails are well known to go for a stroll from time to time. Mystery snails have been found quite a long distance from the tank where they were expected to be. Pond snails don't usually go far but I find the humidity inside a covered tank is enough that they do wander around above the water line as well as below.
