Hi all, I have recently aquired a 100L tank, dimensions 76cm x 36cm x36, being LxBxH.

Now I have kept fish for a few years but I know next to nothing about cichlids.

So I turn to you. I was thinking malawian? But having done a small bit of research I fear that most may be too big.

So here's the question (and I'm sure you're sick of these) what would you suggest I could keep in a tank of this size?

Any help is appreciated

A male/female pair of kribensis would be nice. I've kept them in 20 gallons and they thrived, even mated.

apistogramma, kribensis, ram cichlid, checkerboard cichlid (they need really low ph about 5.6 or something)

Shelldwellers from Lake Tanganyika.

Thanks for the replies, I'm now thinking of moving my tetras from my 60L into the 100L and having the 60 as a fidler crab set up. Still not decided but looking into options still.

What tetra's do you have?

Personally I think if you go for a little south american tetra thing you could easily put a pair of Laetacara curviceps (dwarf flag cichlid) in there!

I think they're gorgeous and have an unusual shape, when they're showing off to each other they're even more beautiful!

There are some I've had:

I have found that they can be a bit aggressive if the pair isn't bonded so maybe get a group, wait for a pair and remove the others. Other than that they're really easy to look after and well get along swimmingly :p with tetra's. A really easy intro into south American dwarves :D
