I have a sterbai that I've twice caught floating upside down on the top of the tank. Other times it was swimming normally around the tank. Is this normal, or it is sick?

Also, can anyone share any pics of their male versus female bristlenose? When do the bristles start coming out? I just got 3 babies, I'm hoping to have a pair...

Hi,

If the cory is actually floating upside down thats not good, but if it's swimming upside down, mine sometimes do weird swimming at the surface when i feed them, especially if i put flakes in before the catfish pellets.

Bristlenose plecs are said to get their bristles when they are over 2 inches long, my oldest 2 babies are over 2 inches and no bristles yet but they may just be females.

Here's a site with lots of pics of males and females http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/loric...cistru/49_f.php they are the same variety as i have. Depending what type you have some females have no bristles at all and others have a few but usually not as many as the males.

Hope this helps

Emma
