our betta is laying on his tank floor and doesn't move unless he is getting air. we put him in a Tupperware suspended from the light so it would be easier for him to get air. his top fin is also losing color and turning grey/white (normally a blue fish). for the rest of his fins it looks like he has fin rot and these red streaks. lastly, he appears to have no interest in food although the food has disappeared. we have tried doing multiple water changes, dosing with fungus clear, giving him peas, etc. this has been going on for two weeks and we would really appreciate some advice. I am really worried and don't want him to suffer anymore.

Age of fish:
4-5 years
Current tank status:

ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 5

5 gallon topfin aquarium

feeding + cleaning schedule:
3 pellets daily
25% water changes weekly

It's better that you provide some photos of the fish.
It's hard to figure out what happened to the fish without any photo.

By the way, when a fish is laying at the bottom of the tank, it's usually very terminal case and can be hard to cure.

Is the fish breathing fast?
How bad is the fins rot?

It may just be old age. He has well exceeded the average lifespan of a betta (2-3years)
