Sick Betta...

I noticed today that one of my Bettas is laying on his side on the bottom of his bowl. It looks like he has a white spot under his head, and his body is kinda limp. I'm not sure what to do. His color is very dull, and he looks deathly sick. Should I put him in a hospital tank with a mala-fix regemine? Or, should I be thinking of putting him down?...

how old is he?
is he in his own tank or a community tank, what size tank?
have there been any changes in around the tank lately?
can he swim?
is he eating? and pooping?
when was the last water change?

He was in his own tank. I just came back from doing some arrands. He died. He really couldnt do much. I'm not sure what happened to him. Thanks anyway for the help.
