I just bought a few shrimp (5 Red Cherry, 3 Amano) on azgardens.com. I'm wondering if they'll be okay on Hikari Sinking Wafers every few days, in addition to algae growing in my tank. Should I get them Hikari algae wafers? Should I not feed them at all? There is a lot of algae in the tank... one whole side is covered in my 10g.... Also, will they eat green spot algae from the glass?
Thanks in advance,
-Leah

Mine don't feed much on wafers, though mainly because my fish will crowd them out before they can get to it. They feed mostly on my tank's algae.

Shrimp don't eat algae from the glass.

My experience is rather the opposite. Amano shrimp are really greedy with just about all food and will snatch it away from fish far bigger than they are. Cherries are a little shyer, but usually have no problem chowing down next to a fish, though they don't go crazy for algae wafers like Amanos do.

Same for me - got about 10 amano shrimps in my tank - they're usually straight onto the wafers before the other fish have even had a chance to spot them. Alwyas funny seeing them steal the small catfish pellets too, they run off away with them, but usually end up dropping them by accident when they're swimming to somewhere more private.

Alright. I also bought a few Black Diamond Cories, so I'll just have to make sure everything gets a fair share.
